Applying to Our Program

The WSU/DMC GI Fellowship Program offers two to three fellowship positions each year for candidates who are interested in gastroenterology. We participate in Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and the National Resident Matching Program.

In order to apply to the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program, please use the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Deadline for completed applications is August 31 of each calendar year. Virtual interviews are held in October and November.

We require the following materials to be submitted through ERAS:

  1. ERAS Common Application Form
  2. Personal Statement
  3. Three Letters of Recommendation (including a letter from Chair or Program Director of applicant's residency program)
  4. Medical School Transcript
  5. USMLE Scores (Step 1, Step 2 and Step 3)

All application materials must be sent through ERAS and any documents sent outside of ERAS will not be accepted.

Candidate Requirements:

  1. Be either US citizen or US Permanent resident (The Institution sponsors J1 Visa).
  2. Have completed US ACGME-accredited residency training in Internal Medicine by the time of intended fellowship start date.
  3. Passed Parts 1 and 2 of the USMLE at the time of application as well as USMLE Step 3 by the time of graduation from Internal medicine residency program. 

All applicants to our program are required to register with the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP)
